§ 17. Mr. Hollisasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will request the Soviet Government to give permission to leave Soviet territory to Soviet-born wives of British subjects who may request it.
§ Mr. Selwyn LloydI can assure my hon. Friend that this matter is very much in my mind. It is however a delicate one, and I should prefer to make no further comment at the present time.
§ Mr. HollisWhile appreciating the answer given by my right hon. and learned Friend, may I ask if he will promise to give the House information as soon as it is possible to do so? Simply because of the smallness of this problem from the point of view of the security policy of the Soviet Government, it is an acid test of their sincerity.
