§ 13. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Food if he will make a progress report on the experiments in cold storing home-killed beef, lamb and pork this autumn.
§ Major Lloyd GeorgeSmall amounts of pork were cold stored during the summer and kept for short periods to even out distribution. A small quantity of home-killed beef was hard frozen and placed in cold store. Some of it has now been issued. Its condition was satisfactory. The experiments are continuing.
§ Mr. RoyleIs it the Minister's intention to extend this experiment in the future so that the autumn flow might be preserved?
§ Major Lloyd GeorgeThat was one of the reasons for the experiment, to get the peak lower than it has been. I said at the time that it was experimental, but I think it will be continued because so far it has been satisfactory.
