HC Deb 11 November 1952 vol 507 cc740-1
3. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Works what special attractions have been decided upon in connection with the Battersea Festival Pleasure Gardens in Coronation Year.

Mr. Eccles

I am informed by the Board that they are making preparations for many special attractions, such as Coronation decorations, new features, and sensational outdoor acts. In due course, wide publicity will be given to these attractions. I understand the hon. Member has already discussed these plans with the managing director of the Company.

Mr. Dodds

But does not the right hon. Gentleman appreciate that if there are to be these wonderful attractions it is no use keeping the news to a small circle of people, and that large organisations that arrange outings want to know six months ahead? Since I am raising the matter on the Adjournment on Friday, I shall not press the Minister further now.
