§ 47. Mr. Doddsasked the Prime Minister if he will raise with the new President of the United States of America the possibility of arranging discussions with Marshal Stalin in an effort to lessen tension in international affairs.
§ Mr. CrookshankThere will, of course, be many questions which Her Majesty's Government will wish to discuss with the new United States Administration after it has been formed. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister has no doubt these exchanges will cover such matters as relations between the Soviet Union and the free world.
§ Mr. DoddsIs not the Leader of the House aware that many people are fed up with the way in which the Prime Minister is continuing to sit on the fence on this matter after the glowing accounts he gave in 1950 and 1951 about the possibilities of high level talks? Will the right hon. Gentleman not attempt to persuade the Prime Minister at long last to blaze the trail to Moscow for peace instead of trying to find it in Korea?
