§ 42. Mr. S. Marshallasked the Minister of Health whether he will instigate an inquiry into the circumstances attending the removal of Dr. Donald McIntosh Johnson to the Warneford Hospital, Oxford on 16th October, 1950.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodA full inquiry has already been made, the results of which have been communicated in detail to my hon. Friend. I cannot agree that any further inquiry is necessary.
§ Mr. MarshallIs the Minister satisfied that there were no conditions other than those alleged prevailing, at the time of Dr. Johnson's detention?
§ Mr. MacleodThis is a very difficult and unhappy case into which I have looked. I am satisfied that Dr. Johnson was properly dealt with under the appropriate Act when he was removed to the Warneford Hospital in October. 1950.
