HC Deb 15 May 1952 vol 500 c1602
7. Mr. W. R. D. Perkins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the yield from the Purchase Tax on white walking sticks used by the blind during the last financial year.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I regret that the information is not available.

Mr. Perkins

Is my hon. Friend aware that the yield must be trivial, and would he reconsider the whole question of this tax before the next Budget?

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

So far as the first part of the supplementary question is concerned, I do not dissent from what my hon. Friend has said. The second part of the question is another matter.
