HC Deb 14 May 1952 vol 500 cc1427-8
38. Mr. Fitzroy Maclean

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the support which the Communist bandits in Malaya are receiving from bases in Siam; and what steps he is taking to stop this.

Mr. Lyttelton

Malayan terrorists have from time to time established camps in Siam and Siamese police forces in the course of normal activities against criminal elements have destroyed a number of these camps, including recently one of particular importance. This problem can only be solved by making still closer the existing collaboration between the Siamese and Malayan police forces. The friendly co-operation received from the Siam police in the past is much appreciated, and I am confident that it will be still more effective in the future.
