§ 35. Mr. Manuelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how far contractors and sub-contractors employed on Scottish Special Housing Association schemes are subject to the terms of the fair wages clause and the National Arbitration Tribunal Award No. 1442 of 10th May, 1950.
§ Mr. J. StuartThe fair wages clause is included in the conditions of contract operated by the Association and should therefore be included in all sub-contracts. The terms of the award of 10th May, 1950, are observed by the Association and, 2096 as far as they are aware, by all contractors and sub-contractors employed on work commissioned by them.
§ Mr. ManuelIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that in some schemes operated by the Association certain contractors and sub-contractors are not observing the award mentioned in the Question? If I send him certain cases, will he see that the holiday with pay agreement is observed as it was laid down in the award?
§ Mr. StuartCertainly, Sir.
