§ 58. Mr. Tudor Watkinsasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many civil servants, both male and female, have been given notice to terminate their employment recently in Wales; what steps are being taken to recommend them for employment elsewhere; and whether the position may be reviewed where there is no alternative employment for such persons.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI regret that I do not possess the figures for which the hon. Member asks in the first part of his Question. Civil servants who are declared redundant are advised to register at a local office of the Ministry of Labour, where every assistance is given them to find other suitable employment.
The answer to the last part of the Question is in the negative.
