That a sum, not exceeding £100, be granted to Her Majesty, to defray the expense of certain additional married quarters, which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1953.
§ Mr. M. StewartOn page 175 of the Estimates I see that the figure is given for the married quarters to be started during the year under this Vote. I wondered if it is possible for the hon. Gentleman to give an estimate of what will be the number of married quarters completed, whether started this year or not, in the next 12 months.
§ Mr. J. R. H. HutchisonPerhaps the hon. Member will permit me to reply on this particular question. I have the figures. The estimated numbers for 1952–53 of permanent married quarters are 1,916, and I may say, in passing, that they are very much higher than they have ever been in the past.
