§ 27. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government the number of houses he anticipates will be built in Wales during 1952–53.
§ Mr. H. MacmillanI shall not tempt fortune by hazarding a guess. We shall do our best, and I know we have the good wishes of the hon. Member. Meanwhile, detailed information about actual progress at various stages of the housing programme is contained in the published returns.
§ Mr. ThomasIs the Minister aware that, while he naturally has my good wishes in this regard, his answer leaves me without any idea of his target for Wales for the forthcoming year? May I ask him if he has a definite figure in mind with regard to housing in Wales?
§ Mr. MacmillanI am not obliged to impart to the hon. Gentleman the gift of prophecy which I have not got myself.
