asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what response has been made by Her Majesty's Government to the appeal by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for funds for the emergency relief of refugees.

Mr. Anthony Nutting

Her Majesty's Government propose to contribute £100,000 to the High Commissioner's appeal for some three million dollars for emergency aid to the most needy groups of refugees within his mandate. The House will be asked to approve a Supplementary Estimate to provide this sum.
