24. Mr. Nabarro

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power the percentum increase or decrease, approximately, in electricity consumption for the first half of 1952 compared with similar periods in 1950 and 1951; and whether he is satisfied that generating capacity at British Electricity Authority power-houses is now ample to meet foreseeable demand in the winter of 1952–53.

Increases of 15.8 per cent. and 1.7 per cent., respectively.
