§ 9. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Minister of Education the aggregate amount to be expended in the development plans of the local education authorities of England and Wales.
§ Miss HorsbrughI regret that this information is not readily available.
§ Mr. JohnsonIs the Minister aware that the amounts, if not available, are astronomical, and that all teachers are sceptical that these monies will ever be spent? Can she give the House some idea of her feelings on the future of these development plans?
§ Miss HorsbrughI have never before been asked to give any idea of my feelings, but I am very willing to do so. I am confident that the plans in regard to the building programme and the teachers, which I have announced in this House, are based on good schemes, and I am extremely optimistic that some day I may have praise from the hon. Gentleman for having fulfilled them.
