§ 4. Mr. Edeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been 1660 his decision with regard to the pensions of the widows and dependants of police officers killed while on duty; and if he will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT any letter announcing to the Police Federation his decision.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeI have carefully and sympathetically considered the pension provision at present made for the widows and children of police officers who die as a result of injuries received in the execution of their duty, but I have felt bound to conclude that I should not be justified in proposing increases.
I am placing in the Library a copy of the correspondence I have had with the Police Federation on this subject.
