§ Mr. J. P. L. ThomasAbout 1,070 acres of land are owned or held by the Admiralty within the city boundaries of Plymouth. All this land is in full use except for some 50 acres which are reserved for known future requirements. No survey is therefore considered necessary.
§ Mr. FootIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that the Admiralty has much greater facilities for playing fields than 1464 many of the civilian users, who would like to have such facilities, and will he make a more detailed survey and see if the answer he has given me is really correct?
§ Mr. ThomasI do not think a survey is really necessary. Of the land in the vacant acreage mentioned, 30 acres are for a possible overflow from the Marine barracks, seven acres for storage purposes taken over from the Ministry of Works, and the remaining 12 acres are for a possible extension of the dockyard.
