§ 45. Mr. E. Fletcherasked the Prime Minister if he will print in the OFFICIAL REPORT details of the annual awards of Civil List pensions now being made.
§ The Prime Minister (Mr. Winston Churchill)In accordance with statute the Civil List Pension list was laid on the Table in April.
§ Mr. FletcherWould the Prime Minister bear in mind that it used to be the custom to print these awards by the Stationery Office, and will he see that that practice is restored?
§ The Prime MinisterAs the list was published three months ago, I do not think there is any reason for printing it in the OFFICIAL REPORT now. This is a matter in which there is no secrecy, but on the other hand undue publicity is not encouraged by convention and custom followed by both parties.
