HC Deb 14 July 1952 vol 503 c1792
21. Mr. F. Willey

asked the Minister of Food why, and for what purposes, he has chartered Japanese shipping.

Major Lloyd George

Foreign ships, including Japanese ships, are chartered from time to time on my behalf by the Baltic Exchange Chartering Committee to carry grain purchased by my Department when the positioning and terms are acceptable.

Mr. Willey

In view of the fact that at present some British boats are tied up, will the Minister keep this matter under very active review?

Major Lloyd George
