HC Deb 10 July 1952 vol 503 c1508
37. Mr. Rankin

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what amount of defence equipment has been sold to Belgium.

Sir A. Salter

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to the arrangements which my right hon. Friend announced on 2nd July, for reducing the United Kingdom deficit in the European Payments Union. The deliveries to be made to Belgium from the United Kingdom under these arrangements amount to £8,929,000.

Mr. Rankin

Can the Minister tell us what defence equipment is being sold to any countries and to what value?

Sir A. Salter

I could not answer that question without notice.
