HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c409
24. Mr. Frederick Willey

asked the Minister of Health what action he proposes to take to avoid the closing of five hospitals in the Northern Region consequent upon the reduction made by him on the estimates of a Northern Regional Hospital Board.

Mr. Crookshank

I understand that the funds to meet revenue expenditure in 1952–53 which I have now been able to allow the Board will probably obviate the closing of any of these hospitals.

Mr. Willey

While thanking the right hon. Gentleman for that reply, may I ask if he will make the avoidance a certainty rather than a probability?
