HC Deb 05 February 1952 vol 495 c775
1. Sir David Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why all people in Caithness who have already applied to the county council in writing for a house and are recorded on the council's housing list are now being required to make another application in writing.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Commander T. D. Galbraith)

I am informed by the county council that all applicants have been asked to renew their applications so that the waiting list may be brought up to date.

Sir D. Robertson

Is it not the case that this county council have consistently failed in their duty in keeping a proper record of the waiting list; is my hon. and gallant Friend aware that the three Parliamentary candidates in the Election had to wait 10 days before they could get any figures at all, and that then they were qualified; and will he take steps to bring that kind of thing to an end?

Commander Galbraith

I will take note of my hon. Friend's remarks.
