HC Deb 04 February 1952 vol 495 cc630-1
35. Mr. Frederick Mulley

asked the Minister of Food what instructions he has given his public relations officers to secure adequate explanation of his policy in the provincial Press.

Major Lloyd George

Wide publicity has been given by the provincial Press to statements of Government policy made in this House and elsewhere, and I see no reason for special instructions to my officers on this matter.

Mr. Mulley

Has the attention of the Minister been drawn to a recent headline in a provincial newspaper which read, "Cheaper Coffee to Cost More"? Is there a new public relations technique on his part to equate past promises with present performance?
