§ 32. Mr. Nabarroasked the President of the Board of Trade what arrangements he has made for Lord Strabolgi to represent the interests of Her Majesty's Government in connection with commercial and trading matters in Yugoslavia.
§ 51. Major Beamishasked the President of the Board of Trade the nature of the special mission undertaken by Lord Strabolgi on behalf of his Department during his recent visit to Yugoslavia.
§ Mr. MackesonNo such arrangement was made. Lord Strabolgi has returned from Yugoslavia and has informed me that he made it quite clear in reply to Press inquiries that his visit was unofficial.
§ Mr. WiggIs the hon. Member aware that this Question was put on the Order Paper as the result of a report which appeared in the "Daily Mail," which was malicious and fictitious; and that, indeed, the Press reporter, Mr. Williams, told Lady Strabolgi at the airport that he was very sorry indeed that he had to send the report through, but his paper wanted something sensational?
§ Mr. MackesonI do not feel obliged to comment on that Press report, but I should like to make it quite clear that I should be happy to see the noble Lord and to hear anything he has to tell me about trade with any foreign country.
