HC Deb 15 December 1952 vol 509 c961
41. Captain Ryder

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the dangerous traffic conditions at the junction of Lombard Road and Morden Road, near South Wimbledon; and if he will consider what action can be taken to improve this danger spot.

Mr. Braithwaite

The responsible highway authority is preparing a scheme for the improvement of Morden-road from Lombard-road northward, which will eliminate the bottleneck at the Lombard-road junction.

Captain Ryder

Am I right in saying that a scheme has already been submitted to the Ministry, and, if so, will my hon. Friend say what consideration has been given to it?

Mr. Braithwaite

No, Sir. The highway authority is pressing on as quickly as possible with the scheme which has not yet reached my right hon. Friend, but he will give sympathetic consideration to it as soon as he receives it.

Captain Ryder

According to my information, two schemes have been brought forward, one on 27th May and the other on 12th July. Will my hon. Friend look into this matter?

Mr. Braithwaite

Yes, Sir.
