40. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements have been made for defraying the funeral expenses of the British subjects who were killed during the recent disturbances in Egypt.

Her Majesty's Consul-General at Cairo has advanced the funeral costs in respect of six of these British subjects. In the remaining four cases, the costs have been defrayed from other sources.
