HC Deb 07 April 1952 vol 498 c2285
52. Mr. F. Maclean

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what reply he has made to the representations of the United States Government regarding the persistent unpunctuality of the train service furnished by British Railways, Midland Region, between Euston and the United States Air Base at Warrington.

Mr. Eden

I do not know of any representations by the United States Government on this subject.

Mr. Maclean

In that case, is my right hon. Friend aware that the United States authorities have shown the very greatest forbearance and restraint?

Mr. Eden

I would sincerely hope the United States Government will continue to observe their present practice in not seeking to interfere in even what they may regard as shortcomings in British administration.
