HC Deb 07 April 1952 vol 498 cc2270-1
27. Mr. Richard Fort

asked the Minister of Food whether the outside store of feedingstuffs at the Perseverance Mill Company, Huncoat, Lancashire, has yet been entirely cleared; what proportion of the pile has been found to be in good condition; and what is being done with the material which has deteriorated through exposure to the weather.

Major Lloyd George

Yes, Sir. Ninety-six per cent. was in good condition. The remainder is being sent to a drying plant and the loss will be very small.

Mr. Fort

Can the Minister give an answer to the first part of my Question, about the date when the dump will be finally cleared away?

Major Lloyd George

My information is that practically all the dumps in this area were cleared away by the beginning of this month.
