§ 6. Mr. Austen Albuasked the Minister of Education if she will make a statement on the policy of the Government on higher technological education.
§ Miss HorsbrughIt is not yet possible to make a statement on the Government's policy in this field. It is being considered as a matter of great urgency and importance by consultation between myself and my colleagues who are concerned with aspects of the matter which are outside the scope of my Department.
§ Mr. AlbuCan the right hon. Lady give an assurance that there will be no change in the policy, which I believe has been followed by her Department, of upgrading a number of technical colleges?
§ Miss HorsbrughAs I have already said, I am looking into this matter with urgency. I should not like to state here, before I look into this question, that I have made up my mind that there is to be no change.
