HC Deb 29 November 1951 vol 494 c1693
12. Mr. Irvine

asked the Minister of Education how many schools, scheduled in 1920 as unfit for use, are still used for educational purposes; and how many of such schools are within the area of the Liverpool Education Authority.

Miss Horsbrugh

628 of the schools on the 1925 black list are still in use, including 26 in Liverpool.

Mr. Irvine

Are not these figures disquietingly high? Is not the proportion of these schools in Liverpool very high? Will the Minister bear these facts in mind?

Miss Horsbrugh

Yes, Sir, I will certainly bear these facts in mind, but I do not know that I entirely agree with the point the hon. Gentleman made about Liverpool.
