§ Mr. R. T. PagetI beg to present a Petition from certain citizens of Northampton. It states:
Various of His Majesty's Ministers have from time to time promised to your Petitioners and to other of His Majesty's subjects a more abundant supply of food in general and, in particular, more red meat. Wherefore your Petitioners pray that before the festive season of Christmas begins Parliament will enact a Measure to give effect to the promises made to your Petitioners by His Majesty's MinistersAnd your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
§ To lie upon the Table.
§ Mr. Leslie HaleI, too, Mr. Speaker, beg to present a Petition, this time from certain of His Majesty's loyal subjects residing in the County Borough of Oldham and the Urban District of Chadderton in the County Borough in the County of Lancashire. Strangely enough, it tells the same story and is in terms remarkably similar to the Petition we have just heard from certain of His Majesty's subjects in Northampton. It calls attention to the same matters and concludes with the words:
And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
§ To lie upon the Table.
