HC Deb 26 November 1951 vol 494 c855
14. Mr. S. N. Evans

asked the Minister of Supply what consultations he had with representatives of the lock trade, centred in Willenhall, Wednesfield and Wolverhampton, before deciding to prohibit the use of copper and zinc in the making of lock furniture.

Mr. Sandys

I am informed that there were no consultations with representatives of the lock industry on this matter. I understand that the integral parts of locks and latches should have been exempted from the prohibition. The necessary amendment to the Order will be made without delay.
