Resolution reported: That the annual sum of four thousand pounds be granted to His Majesty out of the Consolidated Fund of the United Kingdom, the said annuity to be settled in the most beneficial manner upon Colonel the Right Honourable Douglas Clifton Brown, lately Speaker of the House of Commons, to commence and take effect upon the thirty-first day of October, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and to continue during his life.

Resolution agreed to.

Bill ordered to be brought in upon the said Resolution by the Chairman of Ways and Means, the Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Mr. Boyd-Carpenter.
