Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he will give an assurance that the present Government will adhere to the pledges given by His Majesty's Government during the passage of the South African Bill through this House in 1909, namely, that no transfer of Bechuanaland shall take place until the inhabitants of that territory shall have been consulted and until this House shall have an opportunity of expressing its views.
