HC Deb 20 November 1951 vol 494 c206
25. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when he proposes to seek a review of the Rent Restriction Acts.

Mr. H. Macmillan

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Cardiff, West (Mr. G. Thomas) on 14th November, 1951.

Mr. Hamilton

As this appears to be one of the election promises that the Government intend to implement, will the right hon. Gentleman give an undertaking that before the Rent Restriction Acts are reviewed he will consult with all interested parties, including representatives of the tenants of the houses whose rents are likely to be raised as a result of this review?

Mr. Macmillan

I shall, of course, consult with all interested parties and try to take into account all relevant considerations.
