HC Deb 20 November 1951 vol 494 c215
47. Brigadier Clarke

asked the Prime Minister if he is satisfied with the progress of the re-armament programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Prime Minister

These are early days for such a pronouncement. I have called for the necessary reports.

Brigadier Clarke

Will my right hon. Friend make an early survey of the money allotted to the re-armament programme in order to see that it is being both economically and wisely spent?

The Prime Minister

As I say, I have called for reports. When I have received them and considered them I shall venture to intrude upon the House.

Mr. Shinwell

When the right hon. Gentleman does intrude upon the House on this subject, will he do so in public session?
