§ 9. Sir Waldron Smithersasked the Minister of Health the number of beds available for persons suffering from tuberculosis in Orpington and Dartford areas at the latest convenient date.
§ Mr. MarquandThere are at present 100 such beds in the Orpington area and 87 in the Dartford area.
§ Sir W. SmithersWill the Minister do his best to provide beds for all those who are certified to be suffering from tuberculosis?
§ Mr. MarquandI think the number already provided is quite significant. The Regional Hospital Board concerned maintain central waiting lists, so that patients in these areas who are suffering from tuberculosis may be admitted wherever possible to hospitals elsewhere in the same region.
§ Sir W. SmithersThere should be no waiting lists at all.
