Mr. Niall Macphersonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what provisions are made in the Gold Coast Orders in Council for securing the rates of pay and conditions of service and pension rights of British civilian officers in the colonial services and for preserving the pension rights of officers already in retirement.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsI would ask the hon. Member to refer to Sections 57 and 66 to 71 of the Gold Coast (Constitution) Order in Council 1950. I have drawn attention to these provisions in a despatch to the Governor which has been published in the Gold Coast. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of this despatch.
