WilliamsThe Regional Advisory Committees were set up by the Forestry Commissioners in pursuance of the general duty, laid on them by the Forestry Acts, 1919–1947, of promoting the interests of forestry, the development of afforestation, and the production and supply of timber. The Home Grown Timber Advisory Committee was 2297 originally set up under the Timber Control, but now functions under the Forestry Commission in pursuance of the same general duty.
