§ 39. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he has taken to ensure that, since fire brigades have been handed back to local authorities, they have maintained the standard of efficiency found in the National Fire Service.
§ Mr. de FreitasAll brigades are periodically inspected and reported upon by His Majesty's Inspectors of Fire Services. I would refer my hon. Friend for more detailed information to the annual reports of the Chief Inspector for the years 1948 and 1949, which have been presented to Parliament, and copies of which I am arranging to send to him.
