HC Deb 28 June 1951 vol 489 c1573
37. Mr. Watkinson

asked the Minister of Education how many pre-school clinics for deaf children are in operation; and whether there are sufficient to meet the need.

Mr. Hardman

Treatment for deafness in school children is given at ear, nose and throat clinics, of which there were in England and Wales last December 157 directly provided by local education authorities, and 205 provided under arrangements made by such authorities with regional hospital boards. I have no evidence that the provision of such clinics is inadequate.
