HC Deb 26 June 1951 vol 489 cc1176-7
45. Mr. Black

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in connection with Section 58 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, he will state the number of cases in which the Central Land Board has determined that there is no development value and that no compensation can accordingly be paid; the number of cases in which the claimant has contested the determination; and the number of such cases in which the claim has subsequently been admitted.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. Gaitskell)

Up to 25th May the Board had determined that about 112,000 claims under Section 58 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, had no development value. There are no separate records of appeals against this class of determination, but there were 420 notices of appeal to the Lands Tribunal against all determinations made under Section 58.
