HC Deb 22 June 1951 vol 489 cc878-970

As amended (in the Standing Committee), again considered.

11.40 a.m.

Mr. Colegate

I beg to move, in page 2, line 6, to leave out from "amended," to the end of the Clause, and to insert: as follows, that is to say, for the words from 'exceeding twenty-four hours' to the end of the paragraph there shall be substituted the words set out in subsection (1) of section one of this Act from 'exceeding twelve hours' to the end of that subsection. This Amendment simply secures that there shall be similarity of the arrangements for the confinement in both slaughter houses, which is dealt with in the 1933 Act, and in the lairages, which is dealt with particularly in the Bill.

Mr. Pannell

I beg to second the Amendment.

Amendment agreed to.
