Mr. John Hayasked the Minister of Agriculture why the Working Party on Quality Milk Production includes no woman member and no prominent medical authority on bovine tuberculosis; and whether the constitution of the working party can be so revised that the interests of housewives and public health can be adequately represented.

WilliamsAs the terms of reference state, the task of the Working Party is to examine the structure of producers' prices, and the members have been chosen for their knowledge and experience in that field. I do not consider that the appointment of additional members of the type proposed would contribute to the better performance of the Working Party's remit.
