asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the composition and terms of reference of the Retirement Benefit Commission recently set up in Singapore; if the trade unions were invited to nominate for this body; and whether it will cover both Government and non-Government workers.

I have not yet received full details of this body but will write to my hon. Friend when I am in a position to do so.

Will my right hon. Friend consider consulting the Legislative Council of Singapore with a view to having a trade union representative on this Commission?

I will consider that matter when I have received the full details for which I have asked.
