HC Deb 27 July 1951 vol 491 cc842-3

Considered in Committee.

[Major MILNER in the Chair]

12.26 p.m.

The Chairman

This also is a consolidation Bill and I will, with the agreement of the Committee, take the Clauses in groups.

Sir William Darling (Edinburgh, South)

On a point of order. May I ask whether there is a Scottish representative here to guide us on this consolidation Measure? I take it that the answer is, "No."

Mr. Pannell (Leeds, West)

Further to that point of order. In view of the fact that there is no Scottish Member on the Front Opposition Bench, might the hon. Member for Edinburgh, South (Sir W. Darling) be taken to that place?

The Chairman

Neither of those questions really arises.

Mr. Pannell

I suggest that purely as a temporary measure, of course.

The Chairman

This is a United Kingdom Parliament not an English or a Scottish Parliament.

Clauses 1 to 36 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Schedules agreed to.

Bill reported, without Amendment; read the Third time, and passed without Amendment.
