HC Deb 23 July 1951 vol 491 cc28-9
40. Mr. S. Silverman

asked the Attorney-General whether he will arrange to publish as a White Paper or make otherwise available his address to the International Court in respect of the nationalisation of Persian oil, together with the text of the Court's decision.

The Minister of State (Mr. Younger)

I have been asked to reply. I am making these documents available in the Library.

Mr. Silverman

Can the Minister say whether the submission made, or the order of the Court, covered the proposition that when an international agreement has been made, no matter what the circumstances were, it could not be unilaterally changed? If that is so, does the principle apply also to the Anglo-Polish Trade Agreement?

Mr. Younger

What my hon. Friend asked was whether this document would be made available. That is the question I have answered. If he wants to raise any points about the substance of the document perhaps he will put that down.
