HC Deb 25 January 1951 vol 483 cc280-1
9. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now make a statement as to the action which His Majesty's Government intend to take as the result of the Report of the Committee on the Employment of Children in the Entertainments Industry.

Mr. Ede

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make a statement.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

In view of the fact that this Report has now been available for some months can the right hon. Gentleman say when he will be able to implement it?

Mr. Ede

I should not like to bind myself to a date. I must consult the various interests concerned, which are very numerous, and if I gave a date some of them might think they were being hurried and others might be disappointed. I shall endeavour to see that decisions are reached with all convenient speed.
