asked the Minister of Pensions whether, in view of the increased cost of living, he will now review the scale of pensions for war widows.

Mr. Isaacs

I am advised that this is one of a number of matters relating to the war pension provisions which are regularly reviewed by the consultative machinery existing in my Department for that purpose. I shall take the earliest opportunity of making myself fully acquainted with these matters.

Mr. Odey

When these matters are next reviewed, will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that these pensions were last considered in 1946, when there was an increase of 2s. 6d., and that in five years of Socialist misrule the value of the pound—
