Resolved:

That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to provide for the payment of allowances out of the Industrial Injuries Fund with a view to supplementing workmen's compensation where the accident happened before nineteen twenty-four, and for purposes connected therewith, it is expedient to authorize—

  1. (a) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Minister of National Insurance or any other Government Department in carrying the Act into effect; and
  2. (b) it the Act applies subsection (1) of section thirteen of the National Assistance Act, 1948, so as to reduce the liabilities under the Act of the Industral Injuries Fund by reference to the amount of any assistance grants, the payment out of the fund into the Exchequer of an amount equal to any such reduction.—[Dr. Summerskill.]
