Resolved: That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to transfer to the Secretary of State responsibility for the Overseas Food Corporation; to amend the law regulating the functions, constitution and finances of that Corporation; to transfer to the Minister of Food certain rights of that Corporation in relation to the Queensland-British Food Corporation; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid, it is expedient to authorise—

  1. (a) the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any sums payable out of such moneys under the said Act of the present Session in respect of expenses of the Overseas Food Corporation or in respect of advances by the Minister of Food to the Queensland-British Food Corporation;
  2. (b) the payment into the Exchequer of any sums directed by the said Act of the present Session to be so paid on account of revenues of the Overseas Food Corporation or of sums received in respect of advances made or to he made to the Queensland-British Food Corporation;
  3. (c) the remission of any obligation of the Overseas Food Corporation to make payments under section thirteen of the Overseas Resources Development Act, 1948, in respect of sums advanced to that Corporation under that Act;
  4. (d) the issue out of the Consolidated Fund of sums paid into the Exchequer under section eighteen of the said Act of 1948 in pursuance of the said Act of the present Session in respect of advances made or to be made to the Queensland-British Food Corporation, and the application of so much thereof as represents principal in redemption or repayment of debt and so much thereof as represents interest in payment of interest otherwise falling to be paid out of the permanent annual charge for the National Debt.—[Mr. Ede.]
